The Bengtsson variable candidate near AC Cas is red, but there are many red stars in this field (probably some reddening in the region), and therefore its color may not be intrinsic. AC Cas, on the other hand, is the reddest object in the field. Since my observations were spaced two nights apart, I would not expect much variation from a semi-regular variable like AC Cas (which is why I'll look at the field again in a month). There is another star which deserves attention: RA DEC V err B-V err 15.93647957 71.96189880 13.514 0.793 0.988 0.953 It lies very close to a 11.7mag star, and probably is just contaminated by that neighbor (especially since seeing was so poor this observing run), but it may be an intrinsic variable. I'll know more next month. Arne
