Kato-san gives a very interesting plot of USNO-A derived V magnitude vs. my V magnitude
for the field photometry on my ftp site. I like the fact that the ridge line is reasonably
close to zero, though I am also surprised by the increased, systematic error between
V=16-18. Do you know if those stars happen to fall consistently in the crowded Milky Way
fields, or are they scattered throughout the sky?
I have about 100K stars in my master photometry list (all Henden CCD fields since 1995;
there will be at least another 200K stars when I finish reprocessing my older CCD data
that dates back to 1985), and I will post that list sometime this week. The list might
be useful in doing a thorough USNOA-2.0 check in the same manner.
As far as I know, the USNOA-2.0 CDs are in the process of manufacture and should be
ready in a few weeks.
