[vsnet-chat 1151] Possible SN ? in NGC 7013

Hi,
I have taken an image of NGC 7013 on 1998, Aug 11, u.t.:21:45 - in one of the
worst night sky milky backgroung in my observational experience - and compared
it with images I took 1 and 3 years ago of the same object. No apparent new star
or other object appears in it.
I remember that, in the recent past, there were false alarms related to this
galaxy due to the presence of foreground stars.
I think it may be useful to upload the last image to my web site for reference
- the other image acquired on 1997, Aug 31 - which Jerry Mulchin refers to - is
already present there.
I give the url's of the two images for direct retrieval:

http://vsnet.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Lab/4722/7013.jpg - 1997.08.31 image

http://vsnet.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Lab/4722/7013_980811.jpg - 1998.08.11
image

Scope and CCD: Meade SSC 10" + Hi-SIS 22 + Lumicon deep sky filter - median of 6
and 7 45s frames, respectively. The image of 1997 was taken thru a Celestron
focal reducer.
I hope You can find the answer to your queries.
Best regards,
                    Enrico Prosperi
