The idea of a chart viewer is very interesting to me because when I
wrote a program (1993 to 1997) to record variable star estimates and
simultaneously slew my LX200 telescope, I added about 20 unofficial
variable star charts into the program so I wouldn't have to look
around for regular paper charts. I can look at the chart, then hit a
key and record my magnitude estimate. Works very well but would be
nice to have official charts instead. Each chart took about 30
minutes to make.
