Dear colleagues in variable star astronomy.
First of all I'm sorry for my poor english. Second, let me introduce
myself as a new man in the VSNet Chat. My name is Dmitry V. Matsnev.
I'm a member of the AAVSO since 1991 and the only member from Russia
(I think). I observe variable stars from a peripherial region of the
Moscow with 4.4" f'/7 Newtonian reflector and 10x50 binoculars. My
variable star observing experience is over 10 years. There are many
types of variables in my observing program: miras, EBs, CVs and
Classical cepheids. Also I develope the softvare for variable star
observations processing.
Since April 12, 1998 I am the Head of the Variable Star Chapter on the
new russian Web site for amateur astronomers named "Star Fox" (it's
address is http://starfox.telecom.nov.ru). Unfortunatelly, the site is
now available only in russian version, but I'm working hard on preparation
the english version of at least my Variable Star Chapter. I planned to
finish this work at the end of this july. You are all welcome to the
"Star Fox" site and my Chapter in august.
Because of this I want to ask your possible help. If you have some
helpful materials, charts, links etc. and you want and can help us,
please contact me via e-mail. My e-mail address is
jawdet@adel.telecom.nov.ru
Also if you have some questions or if you need any kind of help, please,
feel
free to contact me.
Best regards and cear skies!
Sincerely, Dmitry V. Matsnev.
July 8, 1998.
Moscow, Russia.
