     I recently submitted a note for the IBVS about my HP Andromedae sequence
that cites the original post to 'vsnet', simply giving the author name and
the URL linking to the archived message.  I have often cited the USNO-A1.0
catalogue by giving it as though it were a book, but also including the
URL for the relevant Naval Observatory Web site.
