[vsnet-chat 979] Re: On the nature of V2323 Sgr

After long bad weather, I could observe V2323 Sgr by CCD in Johnson V and Cousins Rc band as
following.

-------------------------------------------------------
SGRV2323 98 May 21 18h35mUT 11.72C
SGRV2323 98 Jun 07 17h40mUT 12.15Rc
SGRV2323 98 Jun 07 17h50mUT 13.14V
-------------------------------------------------------
C means CCD without filter
Comparison star is GSC6851:2930(V=8.75 B-V=0.005 in Tycho catalog)

V-Rc=0.99 indicates that this star has red color. Usually UG in outburst has not such red
color, so I think that V2323 Sgr is not UG.

V2323 Sgr is discovered by Oosterhoff et al. (1967, Bull. astr. Inst. Nethl. suppl. ser. 67) .
T. Lloyd Evans (1976, MNRAS 174) reported as following;

V2323 Sgr blue star
star indicated by Oosterhoff et al. is not variable on our I plate.

(I don't know exactly but) Evans's article may be reference of classification of V2323 Sgr as
UG: in GCVS. I don't know why the star observed by Evans is blue.
But V2323 Sgr is not blue star in my observation (same as reported by T. Kato, Vsnet-chat
971).
I use the finding chart in catalog of cataclysmic variables (Downs and Shara) for
identification.

Spectroscopy may need to resolve nature of V2323 Sgr.
