Dear SN fans,
IAUC 6925 tells the discovery of SN 1998ck in ESO 434-G20. Dr. Kato
has kindly prepared the reference star chart of it.
It locates at b=17.62, so this field contains several foreground
stars which can be mis-identified as SN. Among them, I collect some
"dangerous stars" from DSS2 image.
star # Offset from host mag(+-0.5 or 1) comment
1 11"W, 15"S 15
2 12"E, 10"S 18
3 2"W, 3"S 18 possibly a condensation
SN 1998ck 7"W, 1"S 17 (B, at 98 Jun 1.0UT)
When observing this SN, please keep them in mind.
