VX CAS observers,
The fader star VX Cas is GSC 4019.1525, position in Tycho: 00h 31m 30.769s
+61d 58' 51.069''.
Dr. David Pike at Rutherford Appleton Lab, Chilton, DIDCOT, Oxon, England,
was my contact when I began to observe this star in August 1989. His
comparison magnitudes differ from Guide 6.0 PAL V1. GSC 4019.1321 is 10.26
in Guide, but 10.6 on D. Pike's chart. GCS 4019.1540 is 11.42 in Guide, 11.1
on D. Pike's chart etc.
I have done 386 observations of VX Cas, the majority being mag 10.7-10.9
but it is rather frequently fading to 11.3. At 12.0-12.3 I have seen it in
5 fading events: Aug-90, Dec-91, Jan-92, Jan-Feb-93, and Aug-97. 19930208 my
estimate was 13.0.
VX Cas is, I suppose, a rather lively fader.
The chart I use is now available at SAAF homepage:

Regards,
Margareta.
