Dear Taichi,
During my recent visit to the RAS library in London I noted a new
article by F.Ringwald and T.Naylor in Astron.Astrophys. 326, 629-631
(1997) with the title:
The Status of Nova Ori 1667
This object = V529 Ori. Found at mag 6 by Hevelius during a lunar
occultation there is now doubt as to which year it was found! 1667 and
also 1678 have been mentioned.
Two possible candidates were imaged by the authors but later spectra did
not confirm a nova and they conclude the object has still not been
recovered.
I hope this is of help.
Regards,
Guy
