[vsnet-chat 656] BVRI measures with CCDs

Greetings, All,

No doubt this question has been asked before but we have a group
considering BVRI photometry of Cepheids and wondering about the respective
merits of the SBIG ST6B (similar to the ST6 but with better cooling) and
ST7 in this particular context. 

The ST7 response doesn't look good at the blue end whilst the ST6 looks
almost able to give useful reading in the U band. The better reolution of
the ST7 can be duplicated using a focal length extender so this is not a
problem. 

Anyone out there with actual experience of either or both CCDs used in this
manner?
