Folks, In a preprint to be published in the October 1997 issue of "The Astronomical Journal", Duerbeck et al. provide a UBVR(Gunn i) photometric sequence in the field of V4334 Sgr, aka "Sakurai's Object". Although a chart is given, there are (as usual) no positions for the stars. I have extracted positions for the stars from the USNO A1.0 star catalogue. The table below summarizes the BVR data. The second line of each entry shows the nominal errors for each value; N.B. some quite large uncertainties among the fainter stars. The brightest star was their main comparison, and its magnitude/colors were more carefully determined. Note that this star is bright enough to appear in the southern BD and also in the HDE catalogue with spectral type A0. \Brian +++++++++++++++++++ Photometry of stars in the field of Sakurai's Object (V4334 Sgr) Name RA (2000) Dec V B-V V-R V4334 Sgr 17 52 32.7 -17 41 08 1 17 52 32.0 -17 39 46 10.601 0.358 0.212 see note .009 .012 .011 2 17 52 35.1 -17 39 40 14.507 0.981 0.579 .029 .059 .052 3 17 52 35.0 -17 40 18 14.823 1.337 0.786 .067 .111 .068 4 17 52 34.0 -17 40 27 15.446 1.439 0.865 .032 .099 .040 5 17 52 34.0 -17 40 50 15.582 1.922 1.156 .085 .159 .101 6 17 52 33.8 -17 41 03 14.962 2.055 1.226 .076 .143 .096 7 17 52 35.5 -17 41 39 13.913 1.723 0.949 .026 .039 .033 8 17 52 32.8 -17 41 58 15.342 1.056 0.603 .043 .060 .049 9 17 52 29.7 -17 40 14 15.910 1.015 0.635 .091 .123 .102 star 1: HD 312295 (A0) = BD-17 4940 = GSC 6254-1040.
