I checked the location of you suspected variable near M27 last night.
There is no star visible at the location
Masi's Susp Var nr M27 Aug. 6.28 <14.5v 32cm reflector
Please note that to visual observers, the starfield appears
significantly different than on the unfiltered CCD frames. Posting
an image taken throught a 'visual' filter would be of great help.
