Hello chatters,
Last night I used a camera polarization filter to see if it has
a positive effect on limiting magnitude. The sun was 9 degrees below
horizon. In the East-West direction the background went dark all right, but
the limiting magnitude remained quite the same. Peeking thru the filter
and eyepiece was difficult however.
Any other experiences among observers? Maybe the filter would be more
effective when the sun is at around -5 deg.?
