Dear colleagues,
We would very much appreciate any information on the magnitude
system in "Atlas of Selected Areas" 163 charts for the N and 43 charts
for the S sky. Hans Vehrenberg; Dusseldolf: Treugessell-Verlag 1971.
In this atlas, are there two charts for each selected area; one with
stars down to about 12.5, the other generally going to mag. ~16 ? the
mags being given to two decimal places ? Are these mags photovisual ?
photographic ? visual ?
Edgar Everhart on Sky&Tel. 67, pag. 28 (1984); publsihed areas
51, 57 and 68, for 1P/Halley. Were these taken from the same atlas ?
Can someone cast some light on this ? Many thanks in advance !
Best regards,
Alfredo Pereira
