What we would expect to see when this accretion-induced collapse of
a white dwarf occurs in a binary? A silent change from a CV to a X-ray
binary? The global effect too subtle to be observed in optical light?
Won't it be possible to detect fossil nova remnants around present low-mass
X-ray binaries?
