Dear Observers,
I think that it is normal to see the brightness of Alpha Cet enhanced due to
its spectral type and the physiological effect called "Purkinje effect".
I would advice the observers to drop Beta Ari as a comparison star and to
perform quick comparison between Mira and Alpha Cet.
I seize the opportunity to present myself. I observe rapid suspected
variable stars or periodical stars with poor elements. Some groups in Europe
are currently observing these kind of stars (BBSAG, BAV, GEOS ...). We
observe visually of course and we try to confirm using photometry as I do
sometimes in Switzerland (Jungfraujoch Observatory). Are they some persons
in this list who share the same topics?
Sincerely to all of you
