Below is some BV photometry in the immediate vicinity of the x-ray source suggested as a possible counterpart for Cas A. These should be faint enough to use as calibration with almost any telescope. The data are extracted from van den Bergh's 1971 paper (1971 ApJ 165,259), and include all the reasonably isolated and reliably-measured stars he observed. \Brian Name RA (2000) Dec s GSC V B-V Cas A B 23 23 10.5 +58 48 45 G 4011-1174 11.50 0.64 Cas A a 23 23 15.9 +58 48 55 A 14.08 1.82 Cas A e 23 23 32.2 +58 48 44 A 14.60 1.06 Cas A g 23 23 37.9 +58 48 31 A 14.73 1.13 Cas A h 23 23 36.2 +58 49 02 A 14.99 0.90 Cas A l 23 23 31.3 +58 46 38 A 15.33 1.66 Cas A j 23 23 08.4 +58 48 31 A 15.74 0.99
