V-magnitude chart of V2051 Oph (revised)
* Re-calibrated using Vogt's V measurements, kindly provided by B. Sumner.
Comment by B. Sumner:
Here is Vogt's sequence for V2051 Oph, published in Publ. VSS RASNZ,
1980. The reference chart is vsnet 567, 4 March 1996. Karen Meech's
magnitudes are stated to be of various accuracy in PASP,95,662, but
they are definetely different to Vogt. Meech's two common magnitudes
are in brackets ( ).
vsnet Vogt
V B-V U-B Nights
1048 10.33 0.52 0.11 7
1113=(1117) 10.95 0.61 0.16 1
1202 11.87 0.78 0.28 3
1392=(1387) 13.52 1.93 1.4 2
1411 13.79 1.64 1.9 2
1463 14.13 1.86 1.1 2
You can see why I am suggesting a recalibration, Vogt's magnitudes
are very different from Meech's. However the fainter stars are very
red, could this make a difference? The vsnet stars 1411 and 1463 are
just east of V2051 Oph. 1048 and 1202 are the bright double to the
west of the variable.
My comment:
The fainter three stars being very red, I used the brighter three
in re-calibrating the VSNET chart. The systematic difference for red
stars are mainly caused by the bluer responce of the Ouda V-band
(Meech's data seem to show the similar tendency). Probably there maybe
less red stars of comparable brighteness suitable for visual observations.
