[vsnet-campaign 1417] VSNET Weekly Campaign Summary

VSNET Weekly Campaign Summary

*** Last week news ***

(new targets)
  DE Cir (RA = 15h17m52s.48, Dec = -61d57'16".4)
    = Nova Cir 2003

    W. Liller discovered a possible nova on photographs taken on
October 9. No star brighter than magnitude 11.0 was seen on images
  taken on October 4 (vsnet-campaign-nova 1508, 1509). N. J. Brown
confirmed the object at 9.9v mag on October 10.51
  (vsnet-campaign-nova 1511). S. Otero also reported a confirmation
  on October 11 (vsnet-campaign-nova 1515, 1516). W. Liller took a
spectrum of the object on October 11, and found a strong and broad
H-alpha emission line whose FWHM was at least 5100 km/s. The nova
nature of the object has been established with this observation. He
  reported  = 10.27 +/- 0.03 and  B-V = +0.39 +/- 0.05 on at October
  10.991 (vsnet-campaign-nova 1518, 1525). P. Nelson reported a
possible short flare at V=8.98 on October 10.6 UT
(vsnet-campaign-nova 1524, 1526). The nova is now about 10 mag
  (vsnet-campaign-nova 1519, 1520, 1527).

  V1113 Cyg (RA = 19h22m38s.62, Dec = +52d43'51".1)

An outburst was reported on October 4 (vsnet-campaign-dn 4001).
The outburst rapidly faded (vsnet-campaign-dn 4004).

  GY Cnc (RA = 09h09m50s.5, Dec = +18d49'47")

    E. Muyllaert reported on October 8 that the eclipsing dwarf nova
GY Cnc is undergoing an outburst (13.9mag) (vsnet-campaign-dn 4003).
The outburst is now ongoing (vsnet-campaign-dn 4009).

  IW And (RA = 01h01m08s.82, Dec = +43d23'27".3)

The object keeps bright for about two weeks. It may be a long
  outburst or standstill (vsnet-campaign-dn 4005).

  LL And

A possible outburst was reported on October 9, but not confirmed.
  R. Ishioka reported the object was fainter than 16mag on October 9
  (vsnet-campaign-dn 4006, 4007).

  SN 2003iq (RA = 01h59m19s.92, Dec = +17d59'41".8)

SN 2003iq appears in the same spiral galaxy NGC 772 as SN 2003hl.
At the discovery, the new object is slightly brighter than SN
2003hl. The expected maximum for typical SN Ia in this galaxy is
  mag about 14.7 (vsnet-campaign-sn 705).

(continuous targets)
  RU Hor (RA = 02h46m05s.38, Dec = -63d35'04".0)

The object now clearly shows a systematic superhump period change,
although the period derivative seems to show rather unusual behavior
(a small initial increase, followed by a rather sudden decrease).
The changes seem to have occurred with a time scale of 1 day
  (vsnet-campaign-dn 4002).

  AG Dra (RA = 16h01m40s.98, Dec = +66d48'10".3)

The outburst is now ongoing. It was reported to be 9.2-9.5mag
  (vsnet-campaign-symbio 86).

  MisV1147 (RA = 22h54m03s.78, Dec = +58d54'02".1)

The relatively bright state continues. No major fading event was
  observed (vsnet-campaign-orion 64).

  SV Sge (RA = 19h08m11s.75, Dec = +17d37'41".3)

The object still keeps fading. It was reported at 12.1-12.4mag
  during the last week (vsnet-campaign-rcb 165, 167).

  RZ Vul (RA = 19h47m14s.7, Dec = +19d29'16")

The object is still in a deep fading state (vsnet-campaign-unknown 256).

  CH Cyg (RA = 19h24m33s.07, Dec = +50d14'29".5)

The object has further brightened (vsnet-campaign-symbio 85).

  V838 Mon (RA = 07h04m04s.816, Dec = -03d50'50".94)

    S. Kiyota's observations show a slight brightening in V-band in
  the end of September (vsnet-campaign-v838mon 432, 433).

  V585 Lyr (RA = 19h13m58s.5, Dec = +40d44'09")

The object remains faint without no rebrightening during the last
  week (vsnet-campaign-dn 4000).

  V475 Sct (RA = 18h49m37s.60, Dec = -09d33'50".85)

This nova is fading again (vsnet-campaign-nova 1507, 1521).
