[vsnet-campaign 1408] VSNET Weekly Campaign Summary

VSNET Weekly Campaign Summary

*** Last week news ***

(new targets)
  SN 2003hc (RA = 02h31m42s.04, Dec = +39d22'05".5)

SN 2003hc is hosted by UGC 1993, a spiral galaxy. This galaxy has
produced SN Ia 1999gp (maximum V magnitude was about 16.1) and SN
1973P (discovery photographic magnitude about 18.0)
  (vsnet-campaign-sn 670).

  SN 2003hd (RA = 01h49m46s.31, Dec = -21d54'37".8)

SN 2003hd is hosted by MCG -04-5-10, a spiral galaxy. The
discovery magnitude (17.4-17.3mag) is consistent with the expected
maximum for typical SN Ia (vsnet-campaign-sn 670). The Carnegie
Observatories team revealed that it was a young SN II with the Las
Campanas Clay telescope spectrum taken on Aug. 15.28. It seems
  somewhat luminous event (vsnet-campaign-sn 672).

  IGR J16479-4514 (RA = 16h47m.9, Dec = -45d14')

According to ATEL #176, Molkov et al. reports the discovery of a
  new X-ray transient IGR J16479-4514 (vsnet-campaign-xray 256).

  SN 2003he (RA = 23h58m57s.05, Dec = -02d14'53".1)

SN 2003he is hosted by MCG -01-1-10, a barred-spiral galaxy. The
expected maximum for typical SN Ia is mag about 16.8
  (vsnet-campaign-sn 671).

  SN 2003hf (RA = 16h50m48s.38, Dec = +45d24'01".8)

SN 2003hf is hosted by UGC 10586, a face-on spiral galaxy. The
expected maximum for typical SN Ia is mag about 17.2
  (vsnet-campaign-sn 671).

(continuous targets)
  V4641 Sgr (RA = 18h19m21s.6, Dec = -25d24'25")

    N. V. Primak, et al., the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory team,
reported they also detected oscillations of the optical flux on
  August 5 (vsnet-campaign-v4641sgr 210). M. Rupen reported that
radio observations gave no detection on August 12 and 14
  (vsnet-campaign-v4641sgr 209, vsnet-campaign-xray 257). No activity
was reported to the VSNET during the last week
  (vsnet-campaign-v4641sgr 211, 212, 213, 214, 215,
  vsnet-campaign-xray 259).

  AM Her (RA = 18h16m13s.4, Dec = +49d52'03".1)

Several observations have shown that AM Her may be fading (mag
about 13.5-14.0). This may be a beginning of a new low state
  (vsnet-campaign-polar 25).

  Z UMi (RA = 15h02m01s.35, Dec = +83d03'48".7)

The slow fading of Z UMi continues. The object is currently
  report at around 12.0 mag (vsnet-campaign-rcb 148).
