[vsnet-campaign 1341] VSNET Weekly Campaign Summary

VSNET Weekly Campaign Summary

*** Last week news ***

(new targets)
  UW Pic (RA = 05h31m35s.596, Dec = -46d24'05".54)

    B. Monard reported violent oscillations between 14.3 and 15.6mag
  with a period of 0.0425d on September 24 (vsnet-campaign-polar 15,
18). H. Yamaoka commented that UW Pic was identified as a northern
star of close (~3" separation) double, and so that precise
astrometry will help to determine which is real violently
  oscillating object (vsnet-campaign-polar 16). B. Monard reported
the same activity also on September 25. He also reported that the
the actual counterpart of UW Pic (or at least of the present active
object) is not indicated correctly in the CV atlas, but that it is
the Northern star of the close duo, the brighter one on the
  published image (vsnet-campaign-polar 17).

  CH UMa (RA = 10h07m00s.90, Dec = +67d32'45".0)

    P. Schmeer reported an outburst to 12.2mag on September 29. The
  last outburst occurred on 2001 September 7-20 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2868).

(continuous targets)
  V4743 Sgr = Nova Sgr 2002 No. 3
			(RA = 19h01m09s.38, Dec = -22d00'06".2)

The nova has been given the official permanent designation, V4743
  Sgr, in IAUC 7976 (vsnet-campaign-nova 1065). T. Richards performed
tiem-series observations and reported an exactly linear decrease in
  brightness of 1.038 mag/day(B) and 0.878 mag/day(V) on September 22
(vsnet-campaign-nova 1066). The object is rapidly fading and now at
  about 7.8-7.9mag (vsnet-campaign-nova 1067, 1070, 1071, 1072, 1073,
  1074, 1075, 1078, 1081).

  4U 1630-47 (RA = 16h34m00s.4, Dec = -47d23'23")

    M. Rupen reported a negative observation on September 19 with the
  VLA at 8.46 GHz (vsnet-campaign-xray 159). E. Kuulkers reported
that there is a IR counterpart of this object reported by Augusteijn
  et al. (vsnet-campaign-xray 160).

  HL CMa (RA = 06h45m17s.0, Dec = -16d51'35")

Recent observations indicate a new outburst or a standstill
  (vsnet-campaign-dn 2872).

  SN 2002fi (RA = 02h33m54s.40, Dec = -21d02'29".4)

The object turned out to be a type Ia SN, as expected by reported
magnitudes. Features resembles that of 20 days after maximum on
  Sept. 26 (vsnet-campaign-sn 482).

  SN 2002fj (RA = 08h40m45s.10, Dec = -04d07'38".5)

It was revealed to be type IIn SN. Rapid decline would be
consistent with this classification (vsnet-campaign-sn 482).

  WR104 (RA = 18h02m04s.0, Dec = -23d37'41")

WR 104 = HadV82 (WR+OB, pinwheel nebula) is now experiencing
another remarkable fading episode. S. Kiyota reported Ic=10.88 on
  September 19 and Ic=11.53 on September 24 (vsnet-campaign-wr 4).

  SN 2002fk (RA = 03h22m05s.71, Dec = -15d24'03".2)

This supernova is reported to be very bright in 13th mag
  (vsnet-campaign-sn 480).

  V4742 Sgr (RA = 18h02m21s.864, Dec = -25d20'32".22)

The object is fading and now in 9th mag (vsnet-campaign-nova 1067,
  1070, 1075).

  V838 Mon (RA = 07h04m04s.816, Dec = -03d50'50".94)

The object was reported to be gradually brightening
  (vsnet-campaign-v838mon 384, 285).

  FN Sgr (RA = 18h53m54s.79, Dec = -18d59'40".8)

The object still remains at the faint state at about 13.8mag
  (vsnet-campaign-symbio 34).
