[vsnet-campaign 1184] SDSSp J015151.87+140047.2 = PG 0149+138

SDSSp J015151.87+140047.2 = PG 0149+138

Among recently discovered SDSS CVs (Szkody et al., astro-ph/0110291),
I have noticed that the high-inclination system SDSSp J015151.87+140047.2
is identical with PG 0149+138. This PG object was proposed to be
a possible SN, based on the PG detection at 15.72 mag.

Together with the SDSS detection at 20.3 mag, and its spectrum,
the object is most likely a high-inclination dwarf nova caught in outburst
on PG survey plates. This star is therefore a new variable star:

PG 0149+138 = SDSSp J015151.87+140047.2

   015151.87 +140047.2 (J200.0)
            UG(+E?)
         15.7p-20.3g

Further monitoring for outbursts is strongly encouraged. When the
object is found to be in outburst, we propose it to be a target for
intensive observations.
