WZ Sge superhumps: large superhump excess!?

Dear Colleagues,

   The analysis of the Aug. 5 data (Brian Martin, Kyoto, Jochen Pietz;
the latter two are partially analyzed data; 2489 points up to now)
has yielded an astonishing period of 0.058810 +/- 0.000063 d, which
is by far longer than what has been considered as the superhump period
during the 1978 outburst. The fractional superhump excess becomes 3.7%!

   The combined data between Aug. 4.444 and 5.945 (including Kyoto and
Masi's Aug. 4 data) gives the essentially same period.

   The analysis may have been affected by the contamination of early
superhumps and usual superhumps, and may just be an unstable period
at the start of the superhump evolution. It is of utmost importance
to follow these superhumps precisely, and see how the period changes.
