[vsnet-campaign 898] MM Hya bright outburst!

MM Hya bright outburst!

As already reported by Rod Stubbings and Andrew Pearce, the SU UMa-type
dwarf nova MM Hya = PG0911-066 is undergoing a rare, bright (reaching
13.0 mag) outburst. The outburst is most likely a superoutburst. The
last superoutburst of MM Hya (most of outbursts of MM Hya are superoutburst,
as in SW UMa and WZ Sge-type dwarf novae) was observed in 2000 April.

Observations of superhumps are strongly encouraged, as well as
time-resolved spectroscopy to possibly detect spiral waves (the system
is possibly a rather high-inclination system, and the lines may be
detected in emission even during outburst).
