[vsnet-campaign 862] DW Cnc: still very active
DW Cnc: still very active
Over one month, the Kyoto team (M. Uemura, R. Ishioka, T. Kato)
has performed nightly time-series runs on DW Cnc (15 nights).
Although a possible fading was reported in [vsnet-campaign-dn 661],
our light curve shows the object has kept the almost constant brihtness
at ~14.5mag since March 20. The reported fainter state might be
observed since an amplitude of modulations is large (0.4-0.6 mag).
The modulations (or humps) are seen in every long run.
Combined with all data sets kindly sent by J. Pietz (three nights)
and R. Novak (four nights), we performed the PDM period analysis,
which yields the best period candidate of 0.04855 day.
The confidence level of this periodicity is however still low,
and another candidate of 0.0268 day is also seen.
The nature of this system is still unknown. Close monitorings
are encouraged.
Regards,
Makoto Uemura
