[vsnet-campaign 781] TV Crv: very early phase of the superoutburst
TV Crv: very early phase of the superoutburst
Our observation last night covers a very early phase of the
current superoutburst of TV Crv and show some modulations.
In our light curve (February 18.65-18.85 UT), we can see
a minimum around February 18.67 (UT) which was followed by gradual
brightening, and a maximum around February 18.78 (UT).
The amplitude is ~0.1mag. After the maximum, the decline rate
is faster than the brightening one. Since we can only one minimum
and one maximum, it is unclear whether this modulation is periodic.
On this modulation, there are possible shorter-term variations with
amplitudes of 0.03mag. The PDM period analysis yields the periodicity
of 0.032 or 0.062 day, but their confidence level is very low.
These modulations are quite different from fully-evolved superhumps.
The shorter-term modulations may be related to early superhumps,
but the nature of the larger one is a puzzle.
Now we are having tonight run on this object. The object is still
bright and the superoutburst is ongoing.

Makoto Uemura
