They report that the outburst they observed was the only fourth known outburst of TV Col -- well deserves further study! The only previously spectroscopically recorded phenomenon before Hellier and Buckley 1993 was the second one of double outbursts separeated by 8 days (Schwartz et al. 1988), which might have been affected by the preceding outburst. Outbursts of IPs are still poorly understood, partly because of low frequency and irregular interval. All available outbursts still need to be closely investigated. Hellier and Buckley 1993 reported a possible eclipse-like fading during outburst, but the observation only covered a fraction of the orbital period which made the identification difficult.
