[vsnet-campaign 337] HadV62 still bright
HadV62 still bright
As reported in vsnet-alert 5077, and confirmed by follow-up observations,
the newly discovered variable HadV62 (Haseda variable 62) may be a new
cataclysmic variable presently in outburst. Please put this object in
your potential target list. If the variable is confirmed to be a Mira
variable or other long-period variable, it will drop from the intensive
observing list.
From [vsnet-alert 5077]:
> Katsumi Haseda (Aichi, Japan) reports the discovery of a new variable
> star (HadV62). The amplitude suggests a Mira star, but the absence of
> the image on the RealSky (confirmed by Haseda), likely identifications
> with the blue Tycho2 (but missing on GSC) star, and the absence of an
> IRAS source which is expected for this bright variable, is unusual.
>
> Confirmatory observations (multicolor photometry, astrometry and conparison
> with DSS and other catalogs, spectroscopy) are urgently requested.
>
> HadV62: Haseda's measurement: 183218.4 -263014 (J2000.0)
