(fwd) RX J1450.5+6403 (Henden) Forwarded message from vsnet-chat: From: aah@nofs.navy.mil Date: Thu, 6 Jul 2000 15:45:37 -0700 Subject: [vsnet-chat 3374] RX J1450.5+6403 I now have single data points from 5 nights on this variable. The values are: HJD V B-V V-R R-I errors 51722.6572 16.067 -0.024 0.036 0.150 0.008 0.011 0.015 0.025 51726.7618 17.105 0.044 0.272 0.408 0.011 0.014 0.018 0.024 51727.7987 17.734 -0.144 0.294 0.350 0.020 0.023 0.038 0.059 51730.7121 17.474 0.259 0.276 0.396 0.009 0.011 0.015 0.022 51731.7038 17.707 -0.206 0.558 0.218 0.009 0.011 0.013 0.017 These are interesting values. Obviously, on the first night I caught the CV on decline from outburst; it was still quite blue. Afterwards, the 4 nights presumably at quiescence are quite different from one another. The variable became redder, probably from the companion showing through. However, (B-V) and (V-R) show unexpected deviations (at least to me). Perhaps (V-R) is contaminated from H-alpha? What is going on with (B-V)? Anyone want to venture some guesses? How do the eclipses match with these times? Arne
