Dear all, I have analyzed my last night (April 22.0 UT) images and blink compared the combined unfiltered 9 x 60s and Rc-filtered 4 x 60s frames with DSS2R. No new objects found within 3 arc minutes radius from the reported IGR J18539+0727 position. Only the previously reported object is much brighter in unfiltered frame. Refined (USNOA2.0 reference) astrometry: RA = 18 53 59.82 Decl = +07 25 38.5 (2000.0) CR=14.3 This is identified to be the infrared source IRAS18515+0721. The unfiltered frame has limiting magnitude about CR=18.5 and the Rc frame about R=17.9. Morning sky was already very light so deeper images were not possible to get in order to search possibly fainter optical transient. I have placed also JPEG versions of the combined frames into web: http://nyrola.jklsirius.fi/ccd/2003/data0421/IGRJ18539+0727C.jpg http://nyrola.jklsirius.fi/ccd/2003/data0421/IGRJ18539+0727R.jpg best regards, arto -- Arto Oksanen mailto:arto.oksanen@jklsirius.fi Jyvaskylan Sirius ry, Kyllikinkatu 1, FIN-40100 Jyväskylä, Finland Tel. +358-14-4157852, Mobile: +358-40-5659438, Fax: +358-14-4157803 Nyrola Observatory http://www.ursa.fi/sirius/nytt/nytt_info.html -----Original Message----- From: Taichi Kato [mailto:tkato@kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp] Sent: 22. huhtikuuta 2003 5:14 To: vsnet-campaign-xray@ooruri.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp Cc: vsnet-newvar@ooruri.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp Subject: Ävsnet-campaign-xray 233Å (fwd) Re: new transient source IGR J18539+0727 Date: Tue, 22 Apr 2003 05:10:59 +0300 From: Arto Oksanen <oksanenÉnyrola.jklsirius.fi> Subject: Re: new transient source IGR J18539+0727 Photometry of the suspect: 20030422.04 UT CR=14.2 R=16.2 V<17 B<14 Plate solved combined images: http://nyrola.jklsirius.fi/ccd/2003/data0421/IGRJ18539+0727V.fit http://nyrola.jklsirius.fi/ccd/2003/data0421/IGRJ18539+0727R.fit http://nyrola.jklsirius.fi/ccd/2003/data0421/IGRJ18539+0727C.fit I have not checked the images for other possible optical transients.
