[FWD] 4U 1630-47 radio upper limit

# 4U 1630-47 is a reccurent blackhole x-ray transcient.  The period
# for outbursts is 600 - 700 days, and it experienced giant outburst
# in 1998 Feb.  No optical counterpart has been detected so far.  A
# new X-ray outburst was detected on Sept. 13. (vsnet-campaign-xray
# 157).

Subject: 4U1630-47 radio upper limit

Dear colleagues,

  we observed 4U1630-47 on 19sep02 with the VLA at 8.46 GHz; unfortunately
this was a non-detection:
  MJD 52536.9801   -0.27 +/- 0.19 mJy/beam at the old VLA position
                                   16 34 01.60 -47 23 33.  (J2000)
The weather was not perfect, so the purely statistical error quoted above is
probably something of an underestimate at this declination.  But there was
certainly no sign of this source.
