Dear Gregory,
I do agree with You, however the system of Cyg X-1
(BH+HDE226868) is equaly interesting for CCD observations.
Its optical companion, HDE 226868, a blue supergigant,
with brightness about m_V=8.4 mag its monitoring can
enrich our knowledge on system's components and its
time variability. Besides, it's also good reason for closer
look on that system in different bands of EM spectrum (UV,IR)
and check the correlations of variability close to optical
domain.
It's up to You! :-)
Regards,
Pawel
