I finally found the time to learn to use the DRIZZLE algorithm in IRIS http://vsnet.astrosurf.com/buil/index.htm. DRIZZLE allows you to double the resolution of the image (if it is undersampled) by combining multiple images. The URL http://members.aol.com/dwest61506/page41.html shows how the details of the V838 Mon light echo can be enhanced by the use of DRIZZLE. I am next going to try it on some double stars and see if I can split pairs that I previously couldn't split.
