Subject: v838 MON - substantial 1.1 mag. fading since last night!

Although still very bright, we were getting CCD photometric readings of mag.
(V) 7.53 on v838 MON last night (Feb. 10); this is a 1.1 magnitude drop
since the night before at which time it had maintained a constant 7.42 (V)
mag. for at least 48 hours.  Image attached.
