-------- Original Message -------- From: Marilena Salvo Dear All, we have just sent to Dan Green the following note re. SN 2003ci. Regards, Marilena SUPERNOVA 2003ci in UGC 6212 M.Salvo, B. Schmidt, Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, The Australian National University (ANU), and J.Tonry, Institute for Astronomy, The University of Hawaii, report that a spectrum (range 350-900 nm) of SN 2003ci (cf. IAUC 8097), obtained on March 25.52 UT with the ANU 2.3-m telescope (+ DBS spectrograph), shows it to be a Type II supernova, approximately 3 weeks past explosion. Weak Iron lines in the spectrum indicate a photospheric velocity of 6500 km/s. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Marilena Salvo R.S.A.A. - The Australian National University Mt.Stromlo Observatory, Cotter Rd, 2611 Weston, ACT, Australia Ph: +61 2 6125 6712 Fax: +61 2 6125 0233 Web: http://vsnet.mso.anu.edu.au/~salvo/ *** See you at the IAU General Assembly in Sydney! *** (http://vsnet.astronomy2003.com)
