[vsnet-campaign-sn 584] SNe information from IAUC 8094

SN2003cb 20030207.5 <193:C SCH

# SN 2003cb (13:00:33.25, -6:51:09.3 (J2000.0), offset = 10"W, 2"N) is
# hosted by NGC 4885, apparently disk type (Sa?) galaxy. The expected
# maximum for typical SN Ia is mag about 15.0, though it seems not to
# of this case.

# Deep Lens Survey also discovered an optical transient with queer
# nature. It was below 23.5V on Mar. 5.17, but 0.02 day (half hour)
# later it was V=21.9; it was around B=22 for one hour; 2 days later
# this object was below 25.0V. It is possibly associated with a faint
# galaxy. It is possibly an "orphan GRB afterglow" (See e.g. Totani
# and Panaitescu, ApJ, 576, 120 (2002)) .

Sincerely yours,
Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan
