Dear Taichi,
I hereby report observations of SN 2002jp.
You will notice that one of them is prediscovery (11 days before) and the
other one is also well before the announcement.
I overlooked the new star on the images because it was so far outside the
galaxy...
In view of the rarity of open skies here this is a hard lesson learned.
Bronberg observatory / CBA Pretoria
observer: Berto Monard MLF, Pretoria, South Africa
location: -25 º 54' 48", 28º 26' 44"E, altitude 1590m
instrumentation: LX200 12" f/4.2 with ST-7E, unfiltered
conditions: long forgotten
The reported CR magnitude results from differential photometry to non-red
comparison stars with R magnitudes from UCAC1.
