There are two foreground stars between # which SN is placed. The ESO team (spectrum taken on Nov. 6.19) has # revealed that it is type II SN about a month after maximum. SN2002hn 20021021.5 <190:C KAI SN2002hn 20021030.5 173C KAI SN2002hn 20021105.5 168:C KAI SN2002hn 20021106.5 168:C KAI # NGC 2532, a host galaxy of SN 2002hn (8:10:14.95, +33:57:19.4 # (J2000.0), offset = 1"W, 5"S), is a face-on open spiral (SAB(rs)c) # galaxy. It also produced SN IIn 1999gb, caught at mag about 15.9 # (as bright as SN Ia). The UCB team (spectrum taken with Lick 3-m on # Nov. 6) revealed that SN 2002hn is type Ic SN within a week of # maximum light.
