[vsnet-campaign-sn 458] types of recent SNe

SN 2002ec:

In [vsnet-obs 40635]:
># NGC 5910, the host galaxy of SN 2002ec, is a triple galaxy system.
># The nearest component from the SN is the southwestern one, which
># seems to be an elliptical galaxy.  So, SN 2002ec is probably type
># Ia, whose expected maximum is nearly equal to the discovery

The Australian National Univ. (ANU) group has revealed that it is of
type Ia near maximum on July 31.43 (IAUC 7946).

SN 2002ed: 

In [vsnet-campaign-sn 453]:

>type Ia, and reached its maximum (mag about 14.2) around May 13.  It

SN 2002ed was turned out to be a type II SN (the ANU group, IAUC
7947).
