Dear SN watchers, IAUC 7881 informed the classification of two SNe. SN 2002cg: In [vsnet-campaign-sn 410]: ># The host galaxy of SN 2002cg = UGC 10415 is somethat distant one. ># The expected maximum for typical SN Ia is mag about 17.2. It is ># quite close to the nucleus (reported as 1".2 east and 2".9 south), ># so the magnitude estimates should be done carefully. The CfA team report that it is of type I, but the exact classification is uncertain. They remark that the spectrum is resembles that of "hypernova" SN 2002ap about a month after discovery. The UCB team report that it seems to be normal SN Ic. Note that this SN is relatively luminous (as luminous as normal SN Ia). SN 2002ch: In [vsnet-obs 39515]: ># The host galaxy of SN 2002ch is KUG 1111+340, a small spiral galaxy ># probably with a large distance. The UCB team report that it is of type II. The recession velocity of host galaxy is reported as about 10200 km/s. Sincerely Yours, Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp
