I have included the link in the visual brightness curves reported for of Rho Cas by various national amateur observer teams at: http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/~alobel/amateurs.html Our very recent high-resolution spectroscopic observations of Rho Cas show indeed that the hypergiant has increased spectral activity, comparable to the spectral changes we observed before the outburst of 2000. The chances that the star will go into a new and possibly stronger outburst with a new large brightness decrease are therefore very high.
