[vsnet-campaign-nova 703] V445 Pup as a hydrogen-deficient nova
V445 Pup as a hydrogen-deficient nova
With regards to the unusual redness of "possible nova in Mon", people
may find it interesting to read the following article on V445 Pup
(Kanatsu Object).
Lynch et al. (2001) AJ 122, 3313
This article treats V445 Pup as a hydrogen-deficient nova, written
in a context of the received diversity of nova phenomenon. Although the
new object in Monoceros may not resemble typical classical novae in
color and spectrum, it will not be a conclusive argument against the
object's nature as being a peculiar class of novae.
