Possible nova in Mon (GSC 4822.39) Oksanen observations
Arto Oksanen (Nyrola Observatory) has provided the following information:
I observed last night the suspect nova in Monoceros. The object was
unfiltered about 9.5 magnitudes and stayed very constant (+/- 0.01 mag)
both in minute and hour timescales. It is extremly red star.
My astrometry using USNOA2.0 reference net
(using 30 something stars, reciduals 0.4 arc sec):
RA: 07 04 04.85 Decl: -03 50 51.12 (J2000.0)
Photometry: Vt=9.92 Bt-Vt=1.72 (Jan 9, 2002 23 UT)
Reference star GSC 4822:3559 (07 04 09 -03 53 00)
Tycho magnitudes: Bt=10.742, Vt=10.590
I have put one unfiltered frame on our webserver:
