[vsnet-campaign-nova 521] Nova Sgr 2001-3: DSS check
Dear all,
I have checked the location of Nova Sgr 2001-3 on the DSS 2nd
generation image. There is no object brighter than the limit (rmag
about 20) within 4" around the position by either Liller or Hale (IAUC
7706). The nearest object can be seen (rmag about 17; compared with
surrounding USNO-A2.0 stars) has the position end figures 45s.87,
53".3 (approximate value).
About 7' west of the nova, an Algol-type eclipsing variable star
V1178 Sgr (not Sco ;-) exists.
Sincerely Yours,
Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan
