[vsnet-campaign-nova 394] Possible Nova in Cygnus
Dear all,
I have informed that Yuji Nakamura, Mie, Japan, has discovered a
possible nova in Cygnus. It was discovered from the photograph (200mm
F/4, Tri-X) taken on July 13.651 UT when the object was mag 11.9.
The existence of the object was confirmed at July 16.515 UT by other
observer when it was V = 11.69. The reported position is R.A. =
20h07m17s.8, Decl. = +36o04'44" (equinox J2000.0).
On DSS images, there is no object above the detection limits around
4" of the reported position. The nearest object can be seen is a dim
(rmag about 19.5) star about 4" southwest of the reported position,
which is also a dim IR object (2MASS position end figures 17s.59,
40".3).
The spectroscopic confirmation is urgently requested, and also the
follow-up photometries.
Sincerely Yours,
Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan
