(fwd) GRB 020813 (B. Monard) Dear interested GRB observers, A follow up observation of GRB020813 was made at the Bronberg Observatory on the first possible night. Unfortunately, mediocre seeing and possibly non optimum focus caused a slightly inferior image quality. The initial visual image study up to magnitude 19.0CR did not reveal any new or light-enhanced object. A deeper study of the image at the reported location of 194641-193842 showed a just detectable new object at the limit of the image resolution. >From comparisons with USNO-A2.0 and UCAC1 stars an estimated magnitude of 20.0 CR + or - 0.5 was derived. The time was 020813.719 UT (19h18 LT). observer: Berto Monard MLF, Pretoria, South Africa Bronberg observatory / CBA Pretoria location: -25 54' 48", 2826' 44"E, altitude 1590m instrumentation: LX200 12" f/4.2 with ST-7E unfiltered conditions: clear / moderate seeing / stack of 13 exposures of 45 sec each reported CR magnitudes result from differential photometry to non-red comparison stars with R magnitudes (directly or derived) from published photometric data or traceable to UCAC1 (comparison stars selected from USNO-A2.0 data on the basis of non-red colour and reliability of the data).
