V551 Sgr: variation on September 21 Dear Colleagues, The VSNET Collaboration has received Sep. 21 data (the earliest run during the current superoutburst) from Peter Nelson. The light curve shows low-amplitude modulations close to the superhump (or orbital) period. The object was fading at a rate of 0.59 mag/d on Sep. 21 (to early Sep. 22). These observations indicate that V551 Sgr experienced a short precursor stage on Sep. 21, whose evolution closely resembles that of GO Com on 2003 June 2-3.
