Re: V551 Sgr: drefinite superoutburst of a new SU UMa star! Dear Colleagues, I can see some signature of possible "early superhumps" in Monard's September 21 data (the object was probably experiencing the early relatively rapid fading stage). This is not surprizing, as a long-period system RZ Leo (Psh = 0.078529 d: Ishioka et al. 2001, PASJ 53, 905) also showed the presence of early superhumps, which are the signature of WZ Sge-type dwarf novae (cf. Kato 2002, PASJ 54, L11). The true identification will be made when the exact superhump period is identified. Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
