OU Vir: post-superoutburst rebrightening (long!), eclipses! Dear Colleagues, The ongoing post-superoutburst rebrightening of OU Vir has been nicely covered by Nogami-san (Hida observatory) and the Kyoto team (observers: Uemura-san and Ishioka-san). The outburst lasted for more than 4 days, which is unusually long for a (usually short) post-superoutburst rebrightening! During the June 2 run, the object seems to show a fading trend, possibly suggesting that the phenomenon is on the dacay phase. However, we must be careful because this type of post-superoutburst rebrightening can lead to another rebighteinging, as best exemplified by EG Cnc and recent WZ Sge. http://vsnet.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/vsnet/DNe/egcnc.html http://vsnet.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/vsnet/DNe/wzsge01.html During this rebrightening, sharp and deep (1.5 mag) eclipses have been observed. The light curve of the eclipses suggests that the main light source is concentrated in a small region (probably aournd the white dwarf). There is no immediate neccesity for further refinement of the eclipse ephemeris. The extended (back to May 27) ephemeris is attached.
